THE long-running transfer saga of Greg Williams has taken another twist this week, with the midfielder returning back to Aylebury FC.

The former captain had left the club earlier in the season in favour of their bitter rivals Aylesbury United but he never turned out for the Ducks.

A TRIO of football legends came to town on Friday night to celebrate Aylesbury FC’s charity dinner but there was one notable absentee.

The famous FA Cup, which had been promised at the evening, was left behind by former Tottenham Hotspur player Micky Hazard.

Dons youngster Charlie Collins is expected to make his debut for Aylesbury FC on Saturday after agreeing a loan move to the Zamaretto Southern League club this week.

Eighteen-year-old Charlie, who signed his first professional contract with the Dons this past summer, has tied up a temporary stint with the Buckinghamshire club until January.

AYLESBURY FC manager Mark Eaton was left fuming at the referee after a controversial penalty decision cost his side a place in the next round of the FA Cup.

At 2-1 down in extra time Glen Hawkins appeared to be pulled down in the area but the offence went unnoticed by the officials.

23.10.2009 Heartbreak for Aylesbury FC as they crash out of cup
Aylesbury FC threw away a two goal lead on their way to losing 4-2 against Wealdstone in the FA Cup this afternoon (Saturday).

Wealdstone were the worthy winners at Haywood Way over the 90 minutes, but were given a huge scare by an Aylesbury side which plays two levels below them.

A new semi-professional football club, playing in Aylesbury and managed by former Ducks boss Mark Eaton, has been announced.

The club, called Aylesbury FC, will play at Haywood Way- the former home of Aylesbury Vale, which will no longer exist.
