Match Report
The first few minutes saw that Aylesbury were once again the far better team.
The Kentish Town keeper was tested within a minute and Aylesbury continued the pressure.
On 4 minutes a Kentish Town player handled in the area and from the spot Brennan stepped up and slammed the ball into the net. 1 - 0.
Aylesbury made a lot of chances in the next phase but were unable to capitalise.
On 14 min Town broke and due to a mix up in the area the forward found himself with a golden chance. He must have been so shocked to get the ball at his feet that he completely fluffed it and nearly collided with the post.
We had to wait until 16 min for the next well deserved goal. Town tried to play the offside trap and Williams judging his run just right beat it. He still had a lot to do and as the keeper ran out to the 50 50 ball, Williams just got there before him and headed the ball past him to run on and side foot into the net. 2 - 0.
The half continued in the same way with Aylesbury doing the attacking and Town having the odd break. On one of the Towns breaks, once again the same forward found himself in the clear. This bloke was once again a rabbit in headlights and mis-kicked a sitter.
The language from the Kentish Town supporters, all 8 of them was disgusting and the swear words were every other word. I did find out the referee did not know his dad.
Just before half time Price made one of his runs down the right, but his shot hit the post.
The half time whistle came and I made my way for a cup of tea, the shakes were not getting any better.
The second half got under way and once again we were doing everything but score, but to be fair our finishing was appalling.
After the cup matches we seemed lethargic and the game seemed to be slowing down all the time.
The game was getting boring and then a spark; well it was not a spark more of a right hook. A Town player clumped Ben Stevens and floored him. Straight red card, another Town player questioned the referees parentage again, second yellow, red card, he had already questioned it once. Town were down to nine men it was only time now and we would run up a rugby score.
Aylesbury started playing the ball around, it looked pretty but it was not getting us anywhere. We had no penetration and the team were not on form today.
On 60 min Price had a one on one with the goalie but missed and a few other chances were wasted.
With 4 min to go a good build up all over the pitch, led to a cross coming in from the left for Boyce to put into the net from eight yards out.
The game just didn’t end it petered out. Where we should have taken advantage of playing against nine men we seemed to treat it as a practise match, we should have been making up our goal average.
On reflection we had gained another three points and that was what it was all about.
